3 dead victims on North Central Expressway after several vehicles collide
RICHARDSON, TX– February 2nd was a black day at North Central Expressway as three people died after several crashes happened there.
The first one was around 5 a.m. in the 3700 block of N. Central Expressway.
Reportedly, the driver of a Honda motorcycle and the driver of a Suzuki motorcycle crashed into each other on the northbound lane. Both drivers got ejected off their motorcycles and landed in the lanes of traffic. The first responders transported them to the nearest hospital, where one was pronounced dead.
When the two motorcycle crashed, a tanker truck and Toyota sedan also crashed into each other trying to avoid the accident. This move was fatal for the driver of the sedan, as he died at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Then, an hour later, officers responded to another crash in the 2000 block of N. Expressway.
Allegedly, the driver of a Toyota pickup was travelling northbound in the HOV lane when he was struck by a Honda Accord that changed lanes into the HOV lane. The collision pushed both vehicles to crash into a Honda Civic in the left lane.
The driver of the Honda Accord was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, while the other two drivers were not injured.
Richardson Police are investigating the crashes and are working to notify the victims’ families before they are publicly identified.
