Congressional District 3 challenger Lulu Seikaly failed to submit financial disclosure in race against incumbent Van Taylor
PLANO, TX – Congressional candidate Lulu Seikaly has not filed a required personal financial disclosure form to the U.S. House, according to House records.
The Plano Democrat is trying to unseat incumbent Republican Van Taylor in Collin County’s 3rd Congressional District. She’s making her first run for office in a district that Democrats have targeted for takeover.

Seikaly should have filed her personal financial disclosure form with the House in May. She did not seek an extension, records show. She did submit the required form in 2019.
In a statement given late Friday night to The Dallas Morning News, Seikaly’s campaign manager Erin Bozek-Jarvis said Seikaly was committed to “full transparency” and would file a report.
“This was a momentary oversight on the part of the campaign, and we are working with the Clerk of the House to file Lulu’s latest personal financial disclosure, just as she did 10 months ago,” Bozek-Jarvis said.
Financial disclosure reports are designed to shed light on the financial activity and investments of candidates and public officeholders. It’s a safeguard against conflicts of interest and other ethical traps.
Seikaly’s report filed in 2019 listed a salary of more than $104,000 from the Churchwell White law firm in Sacramento, and assets valued between $100,000 and $250,000 from a Charles Schwab account, and between $50,000 and $100,000 from Transamerica income shares. She listed a spouse salary of over $71,000 from Millipore Sigma and $12,000 from the EKOS Corp.
Taylor filed his personal financial disclosure report in August. Members were given extra time to submit their reports because of the coronavirus pandemic. The report details a vast, multimillion dollar portfolio of investments, business holdings and bank accounts.
On Friday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee named Seikaly to its “Red to Blue” program that provides candidates with fundraising and organizational support.
