Plano Based Home Decor Retailer Projects Record Profits amid Pandemic
PLANO, TX – The coronavirus pandemic has brought financial struggles for big businesses across the United States, but it’s quite the opposite for a national home decor retailer based in Plano
‘At Home’ projects a 42% sales increase in the second quarter. It’s also reporting a profit of $82 million in the same time frame.
CEO Lee Bird credits the store’s recent success directly to trends surrounding the pandemic.
“We are emerging from this pandemic stronger and even better positioned, and we believe we are gaining meaningful market share,” said Bird. “As a home décor category killer, we are becoming the go-to place for consumers looking for a one-stop shop that offers a wide and deep assortment, compelling everyday low prices.”
Bird also touts the large store format and self service model to the recent numbers, saying customers feel confident in their ability to social distance.
It appears that as more Americans are forced to stay home during the pandemic, they are spending more time improving their homes.
