Plano ISD students opt for remote learning, cookie shop coming to McKinney: Most popular news from DFW

Nearly half of Plano ISD students are signed up for fully remote learning when campuses reopen, according to preliminary numbers provided by the district.

The Dallas developer behind a long-planned mixed-use project in Plano is increasingly wary of retail in a post-coronavirus environment, seeking to reduce the amount of store space on the property.

Mary’s Mountain Cookies is expected to open in downtown McKinney in mid-August.

The store will sell freshly baked cookies from the Colorado-based shop, known for its soft quarter-pound cookies and other mountain-style treats.

McKinney ISD’s first three weeks of the 2020-21 school year will be in an all-virtual learning environment, according to a July 17 announcement from Superintendent Rick McDaniel.
