COVID-19 restrictions at City facilities

PLANO, TX – Governor Greg Abbott’s new orders regarding COVID-19 restrictions related to occupancy and face coverings officially take effect March 10. All current COVID-19 protocols at City facilities remain in effect until further notice.

As directed by Governor Abbott, businesses may still limit capacity or implement additional safety protocols at their own discretion. The City of Allen is currently examining policies related to City facilities and internal operations so we can best serve our citizens following this change. Updates will be posted at AllenNews.org before March 10.

Allen has experienced a steady drop in new COVID-19 cases over the last 8 weeks as indicated by our weekly COVID-19 updates. We strongly encourage you to continue following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention such as wearing a mask, avoiding crowds and staying at least 6 feet away from people who don’t live with you as we work together to continue slowing the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
