‘Flat out lie’: San Antonio fact-checked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Prop B debate
TX – Gov. Greg Abbott stirred up the debate surrounding Proposition B ahead of San Antonio’s May 1 election.
If approved, the charter amendment would repeal Chapter 174 from the Texas Local Government Code, which gives the San Antonio Police Officers Association’s right to bargain collectively with the city.
During the first day of early voting, the Republican governor fired up a tweet urging San Antonians to vote against the possible change.
“San Antonio. Don’t defund your police,” he said. “We need SAPD to keep San Antonio safe. #BackTheBlue”
