Lady Dragon Basketball Ends Season 23-7

PLANO, TX – Although they eventually fell to Plano East 56-42, the girls basketball team has a lot to be proud of this season.
In defeating Timber Creek 40-27, the Lady Dragons basketball team went to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2004. The team also only lost seven games in a 30-game schedule — proving their talent and athleticism.
The girls basketball team also showed mighty defense this season. The game against Timber Creek was the 19th where the Dragons held a team to under 30 points, according to DragonSportsNetwork.com.
However, even though their season came to an end, the girls basketball team still recorded some wins. Eleven varsity players were named to the 4-6A Academic All-District team, three players received honorable mentions for the 4-6A All-District team, Kelsey Boyette was named to the 4-6A All-District Second Team and seniors Jordyn Sowell and Brittney Flexer were named to the 4-6A All-District First Team.
