Learn more about Frisco’s Taychas Trail and its future connection to Plano

PLANO, TX – Frisco will offer a preview of its connection to the Six-Cities Trail through Plano during the Roll with the Council event Aug. 15.

Frisco City Council Member Bill Woodard and Play Frisco, the city’s parks and recreation department, will host the monthly bicycle ride and discussion about the Taychas Trail’s connection into Plano.

Once the extension of Taychas Trail is completed this fall, it will connect to Plano along Rowlett Creek under the Sam Rayburn Tollway at Custer Road. That will connect Frisco’s trails to the Six-Cities Trail, which is part of the larger Collin County Regional Trail Master Plan. That plan connects trails in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Richardson, Allen and Garland.

The Roll with the Council event will leave Harold Bacchus Community Park at 1 p.m. A discussion about the trail connection will start at about 1:30 p.m. when the riders arrive at the south end of Taychas Trail near Bert & Eloise Isbell Elementary School.

During the Aug. 4 council meeting, Woodard said those not riding a bicycle can park at Isbell Elementary, 6000 Maltby Drive, and walk south down the Taychas Trail to the meeting spot.
