Neighborhoods in these two North Texas cities are the best places to buy a home statewide, study says

PLANO, TX – A new study gives top marks to Richardson and Plano neighborhoods as the best places to buy a house in Texas.

Online ratings firm Niche named five Richardson neighborhoods in its top 10, as well as two neighborhoods in Plano.

Here is the full list of the best places to buy a home in Texas in 2021:

  1. Cottonwood Creek in Richardson
  2. Arapaho in Richardson
  3. Heights Park in Richardson
  4. Shady Hollow in Austin
  5. Timberbrook in Plano
  6. Canyon Creek South in Richardson
  7. Lakeside City in Wichita Falls
  8. Owens Park in Richardson
  9. Wilshire Heights in Dallas
  10. Park Forest III in Plano

Niche creates the rankings by assigning every city a grade based on the quality and stability of the city’s housing market, according to its website. It also weighs taxes, crime rates and school quality.

The data comes from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, the FBI and Niche K-12 student and parent studies.
