New seniors community in the works for Plano
PLANO, TX – A new seniors housing project in the works for Plano would bring more than 250 living units.
Forefront Living is seeking approvals for the more than 18-acre development on Spring Creek Parkway in West Plano.
The Outlook at Windhaven project would include 160 apartments, 30 cottage homes and 64 assisted living units.
“We want to serve senior adults in Plano who want to engage in a vibrant, exciting lifestyle and enjoy living in well-appointed homes with the amenities they deserve at this time of their lives,” Tim Mallad, CEO of Forefront Living, said in a prepared statement. “At Forefront Living, we are a nonprofit and faith-based organization, which makes a difference in how we do things and take care of people.
“These values inspire our approach in everything we do, including being a valued asset to the community by crafting a senior living community that blends in nicely with the neighborhood,” he said. “This location is ideal for Forefront Living and for Plano.”
The proposed development would include as many as 190 independent living residences, a luxury 160-unit seniors apartment building and 30 “cottage” homes.
The Outlook at Windhaven will also have a 64-unit building for assisted living and memory care services.
The campus is planned with a clubhouse that will include dining, fitness, entertainment and other amenities.
The developers are seeking zoning approvals for the project. Construction isn’t scheduled to start until late 2022.
The Outlook at Windhaven is being designed by City Centric Planning; The Living Architecture, an architecture firm specializing in senior living and hospitality; Bridget Bohacz + Associates; Kimley Horn; and Greystone.
Andres Construction Services is providing contracting services.
Forefront Living is best known for operating the Presbyterian Village North seniors community in northeast Dallas, which opened in 1980. That project is being expanded with a new building and other upgrades.
