Outdoor rock wall planned next to Plano indoor climbing facility

PLANO, TX – A new outdoor rock-climbing area may be coming to a Plano business after city officials approved the new plans.
Plano Planning and Zoning Commission on May 18 approved the request for the outdoor amusement permit, which is intended to complement the existing indoor facility at Summit Climbing, Yoga and Fitness.
The property next to Summit where the wall would be located is currently vacant, according to city documents.
The developer plans to build a restaurant and fitness center on the site, and received approval this week to add the outdoor rock-climbing use.
While the wall would sit behind a proposed new building, it would be visible from nearby roadways including Mapleshade Lane and SH 190.
