Parents rally at Plano ISD building to protest in-person learning delay
PLANO, TX – About 20 students and their parents rallied outside Plano ISD’s administration office Thursday, protesting the district’s decision to delay in-person classes for the first several weeks of the school year.
Families were given the option to send students back to campuses or enroll them in virtual learning, but after COVID-19 cases in North Texas surged, the district announced that all students would have to start the school year online Aug. 12. Face-to-face instruction is scheduled to begin Sept. 9.
