Plano alderman files to run against long-time mayor
PLANO, TX – A Plano alderman will challenge incumbent Mayor Bob Hausler in next April’s consolidated election.
Ward One Alderman Mike Rennels filed petitions to run against the city’s long-time mayor in the April 6 voting. Hausler, who also filed petitions, is seeking a fourth term. He has served as mayor since 2009.
Dec. 21 was the deadline for prospective candidates to file petitions to have their names placed on the April ballot.
Half of Plano’s city council will be running for re-election unopposed come April as well. Candidates will include Ward Three Alderman Stephen DeBolt, Ward Two Alderman Jamal Williams, Ward One Alderman Barb Nadeau and Ward Four Alderman Tommy Johns.
City Clerk Kathy Miller and Treasurer Zoila Gomez will also run for re-election unchallenged.
