Plano East’s young roster experiences growing pains

PLANO, TX – The Panthers came into the season with a roster that was one of their youngest in quite a few years.

With that youth comes mistakes and ill-timed plays in close games, and ultimately that has cost Plano East multiple times. Now at 4-4, Plano East has lost all four games by 11 points or fewer. For coach Matt Wester, the performances have been a learning experience for the team.

“We have the potential to be a really good defensive team,” Wester said. “We set a varsity school record in holding Boyd to 27 points and have held a lot of teams to at or around 50 points a game. That’s a great benchmark as we’ll start getting some of the football guys back in the rotation.”
