Plano has got a new year’s resolution for you: Swim 60 miles by March
PLANO, TX – The Oak Point Recreation Center is challenging Plano residents to start off the new year by resolving to swim up to 60 miles by mid-March.
The “Fit in Plano Swim Challenge,” taking place from Jan. 11 through March 16, asks participants to choose to swim distances of either 12,000 or 24,000 yards; or 24, 35, 48 or 60 miles.

The rec center recommends breaking it up into a three-day weekly workout, but the yards (or miles) can be swum at any time in the eight-week challenge period.
Commemorative T shirts will be given to all participants who meet their goals.
At this time, only members may use the city’s recreation center pools. You can register online using course #34963.
