PLANO, TXThirteen-year-old Jaxson Turner raised $5,900 for 61 homeless children in his third annual fundraiser last week, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The money bought toys, new shoes, jackets, socks and a hot meal for the kids at The Samaritan Inn in McKinney.

Turner goes to school at Renner Middle School in Plano and already has his own nonprofit organization N2Y2C, or Never Too Young to Care, which he started around age 10.

“It feels good to see the kids happy and the parents too. It was more special this year because people chose to help even in the midst of a pandemic,” he told NBC 5. “It’s an honor to serve those who are less fortunate because it could be any of us facing a sad time of homelessness in our lives. I hope that I am making God and my community proud.”
