Plano police praise officer’s kind gesture on social media
PLANO, TX – The Plano Police Department took to social media this week to share an email commending an officer who paid for an older man’s items at a convenience store checkout after his credit card was declined.
“I was the first one in line and was in a hurry to get breakfast for my daughter…” he wrote. “Your officer cuts in front of the line (and apologizes to all of us) and pays for the older gentleman’s items he was trying to purchase. I have thought about it all day yesterday and felt the need to send this to you.”
The emailer, an Oklahoma resident in town for his daughter’s softball tournament, said that he didn’t get the officer’s name, but was struck by the gesture.
“It made me realize that everything isn’t about me and I could’ve done the same thing,” he wrote.
