Plano promotes Sandra Rodgers-Tomeo to assistant police chief role
PLANO, TX – Plano has promoted a 31-year veteran of its police force to serve as assistant police chief.
Lt. Sandra Rodgers-Tomeo will assume the leadership role after more than three decades as a patrol officer, sergeant and lieutenant within the Plano Police Department’s family violence, sex crimes and narcotics units, the city said in a May 29 news release.
Rodgers-Tomeo currently serves as commander of the emergency services unit and is also assigned to the homeland security and special events unit, according to the city statement.
The city will hold a formal promotion ceremony June 1.
Rodgers-Tomeo will serve under Police Chief Ed Drain, who played a similar role for years under former Chief Greg Rushin, who is now the deputy city manager.
