PLANO, TX – Three men face capital murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old man outside his Plano home in 2017, police said.

Police say Ladarus Demarquis Earl Keys, 27, Christopher Jamond Walker, 28, and Jacob Anthony Malin, 27, are responsible for the death of Christopher Collinvitti on Nov. 7, 2017.

Collinvitti returned to his home in the 7900 block of Case Drive just after 9 p.m. that night and was gunned down in his garage as he got out of his car. Investigators originally said the incident was a “suspicious death” and that there was no clear motive. But police said Tuesday the slaying occurred during a robbery.

Keys was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Collin County Jail. His bail information was not available.

Walker was arrested on May 9 and is being held in the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $504,500. Jail records show he was also arrested and charged with assault of a family or household member on May 9 and assault causing bodily injury on May 18, both by the Arlington Police Department. It’s not clear if those charges are connected to Collinvitti’s death.

Malin is in custody at the Yazoo City Federal Correctional Institution in Mississippi. Inmate records show he was set to be released in March 2022.

The Plano Police Department said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
