Tigers place third in regional tournament
MELISSA, TX — Texas High’s tennis team competed in the Region II-5A tournament at Melissa High School.
The two-day event began on Monday.
Haak Chesshir and Rhett Young won third place against HIghland Park with a 6-2,7-6 win.
“I’m very proud of how we fought and competed today from the first point on against Highland Park,” THS coaching staff said. “It was a great way to end an awesome year.”
The Tigers split wins on the first day.
Lydia Lee and Reagan Potts won their first match in girls doubles, before falling to Highland Park.
“It was a great day of watching these Tigers compete in the regional tournament,” THS coaching staff said. “I’m so proud of the effort these kids have shown all year, leaving everything on court. They’ve really left their mark on this program!”
Marlee Bledsoe also won her first match in girls singles, before losing to Highland Park.
Chesshir and Young won a close match in three sets over Rockhill in the quarterfinals in the boys doubles bracket. The Tigers fell short in semifinales against Frisco Independence.
